Crooked Brim · Issue 001
Hats made weird. On purpose.
Independent makers, one-of-a-kind lids, every hat signed by the studio that stitched it. No mall-caps, no machine patches — just a crooked-brim rack that rotates every season.

Independent makers
Meet the studios behind the crooked brims.
Three workshops, three different presses. Click a maker to see their studio plates and every lid they've stitched this season.

Luisa Santiago
Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico
Luisa weaves palm-leaf sombreros on a wooden press older than her grandmother. Every brim gets its dye from pigments she grinds on the studio’s basalt metate. Twelve weavers, two presses — one crooked brim at a time.

Nico Vela
Bandera, Texas
Nico shapes cattleman felts at Cement Creek Hatworks in Bandera, where his grandfather shod the same hydraulic press. Each lid spends a week in the steam box before he hand-hammers the cattleman crease. His brim isn’t pressed on a Sunday.

Ada Reyes
Brooklyn, New York
Ada carves woodblocks in a fourth-floor Brooklyn studio above a print shop that owes her rent. She’s been ink-rolling caps and beanies for three seasons — every motif drawn first in her sketchbook. The block, never the patch.

How it works
Three steps. No app to download. No “earn” math.
- Step 01
Collect
Browse maker-signed caps, beanies, sombreros and cowboy hats. Every lid is one-of-a-kind with the maker’s number stamped inside.
- Step 02
Rotate
Collections swap every season — Cinco de Mayo sombreros in May, rodeo cattlemans in July. Show up on Tuesday, they’re gone by Friday.
- Step 03
Unlock gifts
Sidekick, Regular, Cattleman, Outlaw — tier ladders mail actual presents. No points, no app, no opt-in. Just lids and time.
